This week we hear another account of Jesus meeting the apostles. This time it is by the Sea of Tiberias (Galilee) and it occurs as the apostles arrive back to shore after being out fishing. It is only when they throw the net out at his request, to the starboard side, that they catch any fish and that they recognise him. He cooks them breakfast. During this he ‘took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish’. Through his resurrection and the appearances Christ ensures that he will be remembered and witness given to him and his teaching.
