Update

Hello everyone! We re-commence on the 1st September and as we do so, we take a brief look at what we could be facing in the last third of 2024. Over the next three months there are the usual things that will come our way — two trips to Knock are being proposed (details of these will be on next week’s bulletin); choirs come back after the summer break; the Pastoral Council will be back in action this month; between now and the ‘mid-term break’ there will be autumn stations; “one off things”, like the visit of the relic of St. Bernadette of Lourdes this month; and one of which, we hope, will be once for generations to come, please God, the opening of the new Parish Pastoral Centre; with the new Pastoral Centre we will be looking towards some faith formation possibilities for young and adult parishioners; towards the end of the year around Christmas time to New Year there will be the beginning of the Holy Year, the Year of Hope. As the theological virtues go, Hope is probably the least thought of or spoken of, but the upcoming Holy Year will help us to explore it in a time when it is much needed. Along with these there will be the steadiness of parish life and the usual dynamic of parish activity. May God bless us all in the days, weeks and months ahead.
