The East Cork Camino – Pilgrimage of Hope 2025

2025 has been designated as the “Jubilee Year of Hope” by the late Pope Francis. The Irish Bishops have chosen three locations as National Jubilee Year Pilgrimage Sites located at Knock, Croagh Patrick and Lough Derg. Individual Diocese and Parishes are organising local events and pilgrimages at various locations within their communities.

Here in East Cork, a local “Camino” incorporating a Jubilee Year Pilgrimage of Hope is being organised in 3x monthly stages along the newly opened Greenway from Midleton to Youghal. The Pilgrimage of Hope takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month during July, August and September from 8am to 12 noon. The dates are July 12th, August 9th and September 13th 2025. The Pilgrimage will incorporate all 10 parishes within the Midleton Deanery area of the Diocese of Cloyne which includes Cobh, Carrigtwohill, Lisgoold, Aghada, Cloyne, Midleton, Imogeela, Ballymacoda, Killeagh and Youghal.

Everyone is invited to join in this Pilgrimage of Hope by participating in whatever way they can, either in person or in spirit through their prayerful support. Stage 1 on Saturday July 12th is from Midleton Parish Church to Sacred Heart Church, Mogeely. Stage 2 on Saturday August 9th is from Mogeely to St. John the Baptist Church, Killeagh. Stage 3 on September 13th is from Killeagh Parish Church to Youghal. Further details and a detailed Itinerary will be available over the coming weeks.
