Bro. Stephen Buckley from the Pallottine Fathers Missions will be here at all Masses next weekend (8th/9th July) to promote their mission work. The Pallottines were founded by St. Vincent Pallotti, who was born in Rome in 1795. From his childhood he offered his life to the service of the poor, and founded the Union of Catholic Apostolate. At that time the laity was not actively involved in the ministry of the Church and St. Vincent wanted to inspire people of all walks of life to work for God’s kingdom. St. Vincent wanted people to treat those in need “with care and a loving concern”. He died in 1850, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire people worldwide today.
