Mass for the repose of all those killed in the First World War

Sunday November 11th is the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War in which hundreds of thousands of soldiers died, many of them Irish, including a number from Midleton and surrounding parishes. The 12 noon Mass on that day will be offered for the repose of all those killed in that war. A brief service of remembrance will take place in Holy Rosary church beginning at 11.45. The Mass will be followed by a parade to the World War I monument at the ‘Baby’s Walk’ where wreaths will be laid. Those attending are invited to leave their own personal mementoes there as well, and memorial crosses will be available.
