Holy Rosary Church Closure

The work on the new lighting and alarm systems in Holy Rosary Church will begin on Monday, September 15th . The Church will be closed for a two-week period from that date. The following arrangements will be put in place:

  • There will be no 8 am weekday Mass.
  • The 10 am weekday Mass will take place in Ballintotis Church.
  • Masses for Sunday, September 21st will take place in CBS Secondary School Hall, including the Vigil Mass on Saturday at 6.10 pm. Sunday Masses will be 8 am, 10 am and 12 noon as usual.
  • There will be no confessions on Saturday, September 20th or Saturday, September 27th
  • Any funerals which arise will take place either in Ballintotis Church or in St Mary’s, Carrigtwohill. We will consult with families and funeral directors as to which is more suitable.
  • Eucharistic Adoration will be suspended during that time, and the Blessed Sacrament will be removed from the Church.

We should be back to normal for the Saturday evening Mass on September 27th.

As and from 7am on Monday the 15 th , the Church will become a high-risk building site with very strict rules. There will be no public access for any reason into the church during the closed time until Saturday 27th. Only authorised workers with a valid Safe Pass Card are allowed on site.

Even if a door is open, please do not enter for any reason.
