Feast of Christ the King – Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

It is customary for parishes to hold Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the afternoon of the Feast of Christ the King, the final Sunday on the Church’s Liturgical Calendar.

This year the Feast of Christ the King falls on November 20th.

Midleton parish will conduct a Holy Hour of Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament from 2 – 3 pm on Sunday 20th November.

This is shorter than the customary time allocated for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the afternoon of the Feast of Christ the King. The reason for the shorter devotions is because of a diocesan level prayer event to mark the closing of the Year of Mercy at St Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh. See here.

No Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place this year in St Colman’s Church, Ballintotis, for the Feast of Christ the King.
