Feast Days this week

Monday 15th, The Assumption of Our Blessed Lady.

Tuesday 16th, St. Stephen of Hungary, 975-1038, first King of Hungary and its patron saint, worked for the conversion of his people to Christianity.

Wednesday 17th Our Lady of Knock, the apparition at Knock was witnessed by fifteen people, young and old on the 21 August 1879. On the Feast of St. Joseph, 19 March 2021, was declared by Pope Francis to be an International Shrine of Eucharistic and Marian Devotion.

Friday 19th, St. John Eudes, 1601-1680, Born in Normandy. He spent 20 years with the French oratory, then left and founded a congregation to improve the standards of the clergy through seminaries. A powerful preacher, he was one of the first to promote devotion to the Sacred Heart.

Saturday 20th, St Bernard, 1090-1153. In 1113 he became a Cistercian monk at Citeaux and was chosen as Abbot of Clairvaux in 1115. His writings show a solid grasp of biblical studies, spiritual theology and philosophy. Patron of Gibraltar and beekeepers.
