The Chrism Mass, at which Bishop Crean will bless the Oils of Catechumens (used in the sacrament of Baptism and the preparation of catechumens for baptism) and the Anointing of the Sick and he will consecrate the Oil of Chrism (used to anoint newly baptised, to seal the candidates for Confirmation, to anoint the hands of priests and the heads of bishops at their ordination and also rites of anointing linked to the dedication of churches and altars. On that night, as well, the priests renew their ordination promises. All are welcome to attend this Mass.
