Centennial Statue of The Immaculate Heart of Mary of Fatima

Pope Frances has blessed six statues of Our Lady of Fatima on the occasion of the Hundredth Anniversary of Our Lady’s Apparitions in Fatima. These statues are to be sent to the 6 continents. The European statue is currently visiting the Diocese of Cloyne. Pope Francis has granted a Plenary Indulgence to all who take part in celebrations in the presence of the statue. Visits of the statue (to East Cork) include: St Colman’s Cathedral, Mon 27th Mar, arriving at 7.30pm for 8pm Mass celebrated by Bishop William Crean, followed by a vigil at the Cathedral until 11.00pm. Later that night there is 12am midnight Mass at the Benedictine Convent, The Mount, Cobh, followed by a vigil until 7am. Tuesday 28th Mar: The statue arrives at 9.30am to The Holy Rosary Church, Midleton, for 10am Mass. The statue departs for Youghal (Our Lady of Lourdes Church, The Strand) for an 11.30am service of consecration, prayers and veneration.
