This week we have an overlap of two different ‘themed weeks’: starting on Saturday 18th and finishing on the 25th January is the week of Prayer for Christian Unity and beginning on Sunday 19th for a week is ‘Catholic Schools Week’.
The theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is “Do you believe this?”. This is a question posed by Jesus to Martha in the discussion that takes place when he arrives after the death of Lazarus. It is posed for the week in the light of the 1700 anniversary of the Nicene Creed and we are asked to reflect on that Creed as a source of unity in Christian faith.
