Monday 27th St. Vincent de Paul (1580-1660) priest. Founded the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentians) and the Daughters of Charity (1633), the first sisters to work outside their convents in active service. He is the patron of all charitable works.
Tuesday 28th St. Wenceslaus: (905-925). Prince of Bohemia. He was killed by his brother. Patron of brewers. Ss. Lawrence Ruiz and Companions: During the period 1633-37, these sixteen martyrs shed their blood out of love for Christ in the city of Nagasaki, Japan.
Wednesday 29th SS. Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Archangels: Gabriel brought the message to Mary at the Annunciation. Raphael was guide to Tobias. Michael has been venerated as protector of Christians in general and soldiers in particular.
Thursday 30th St. Jerome: priest and doctor of the Church. (340-420). Translated the Bible into Latin and wrote commentaries on Scripture. Patron of librarians.
Friday 1st October St. Thérese of the Child Jesus, virgin and doctor-of the Church. St. Thérése of Lisieux, died at the Carmel in Lisieux on 30th September, 1897. She was declared a doctor of the Church by Pope John Paul II in 1997. Patron of missions, florists, aviators and France.
Saturday 2nd The Guardian Angels: We venerate the Guardian Angels, seeking their constant protection.
