Stage 2 of the East Cork Camino Jubilee Year Pilgrimage of Hope from Mogeely to Killeagh (6 km) takes place on Saturday, August 9th commencing with a special Pilgrims’ Mass at 8 am in Sacred Heart Church, Mogeely. Pilgrim passports and booklets will be available at the commencement of the stage and are also available from the Midleton Parish Office free of charge (a donation to cover costs is appreciated).
A period of quiet reflection followed by prayers will take place in Killeagh Parish Church mid-morning. Pilgrims can conclude Stage 2 of their pilgrimage in Killeagh or have the option of returning to their starting point at Mogeely Church via the Greenway (6 km) where the Angelus will will be recited at 12 noon.
Everyone is invited to participate in the Jubilee Year Pilgrimage in whatever way they can, either in person or in spirit through their prayerful support. Prayer petition boxes have been placed in churches throughout East Cork and petitions will be included in each of the Pilgrim Masses. As Stage 2 is the shortest stage of the pilgrimage (6 km), we would encourage as many as possible from the 10 parishes of East Cork to participate on August 9th. All are welcome. The 10 Catholic parishes within the Midleton Deanery Area are: Cobh, Carrigtwohill, Lisgoold, Aghada, Cloyne, Midleton, Imogeela, Ballymacoda, Killeagh and Youghal.
